head noise

I hear a noise in the left side of my head that sounds like a rusty, old, air conditioner going on and off.  It is getting louder with time.  It has been going on for 7 months.  I can make it go away for one or two seconds by slightly moving my head.  Wondering what I can do to relieve this annoying, ever louder noise?

See your doctor. If they can't find a cause (such as wax or infection), you need to see an ENT and get a hearing test, possibly an MRI to rule out a benign tumor of the inner ear, which can cause one-sided tinnitus (head/ear noise). Such tumors are rare AND they are benign (not cancerous), and they are very slow-growing, but they do need attention at some point.

Hi Sue-
I have a similiar situation with ear noise in my right ear........I am 4 1/2 weeks into this and keep searching for answers. Can you tell me where you have gone thus far and the outcomes? Have you had any dental work done after symptoms started?
