jaw joint

Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days. the nose cleared slightly but i am still blowing my nose as its still slightly block. but the part below my left ear around the jaw joint area became more uncomfortable. what could be the problem?

Hi,

Can you please let us know what were the medications prescribed by the doctor?
You have partially recovered from the upper respiratory tract infection. Also, it appears that you are having infection of the external ear (Otitis externa) or left TMJ problems. Try taking muclolytics (such as bromhexine/ambroxyl), pain relievers (such as Ibuprofen/diclofenac), saline nasal drops, steam inhalation, drink plenty of warm water and avoid chewing on the left side. Consult your doctor for the detailed examination and further management.

I suggest you call your dr back.  It doesn't sound like the infection was completely gone and you might need to continue antibiotics.  Also, you might want to ask your dr about TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) problems.

Feel better.
