oral sex and the throat

hello all. i have performed oral sex on my girlfriend and now i'm wondering if that may cause some throat infection i feel like i'm currently having. at first it was just an itchy throat with coughs but now it seems just like the flu, complete with runny & stuffy nose. so at first i was worried it might be the oral but now i'm wondering if i was just worrying a bit too much. is there any way an infection from oral sex would present flu-like symptoms?

It could be a coincidence, but if it persists, and your physician has difficulty treating it, you might suspect a mycoplasma

I can't really say that the "oral sex" caused this. Sounds like you have a viral infection that you could have gotten from anywhere.

I wouldn't be too concerned with this. IF it persists I would recommend you see your physician.
