submandibular gland- swollen or not.

Helloi have a question regarding submandibular glands under my jaw just above my Adam's apple. When I feel for these I can feel 2 small like pea kind of sized moveable lumps. I have had these for 8 months that I know of. They. Old just be normal sized I don't know this is what I'm wanting to know. Is it possible too feel your unswollen submandibular glands? I went to an ENT specialist last week and he had a feel about and found a lump in my neck and said it was normal sized and possibly being pushed up by a muscle, it feels the same size as that. Also if the ent had any concerns am sure he might of felt them when he had a check.

Hi, understand your anxiety. Only lymph nodes greater than 1 cm are significant. Lymph are protective mechanisms of the body and they 'trap' the infecting source causing enlargement of lymph nodes. The infection can be from the draining skin or the organs. The other causes for enlarged nodes are tumors or inflammations to name a few. So, wait and watch, if they further increase in size, then consult your doctor. Regards.

It's not that I can just touch my neck and feel I need to tilt my head forward and have a good feel about.
