I am not sure of your question, however, tonsilliths can form in patients from there being crypts (the "craters" you describe) that catch food contents and secretions. Gargling and rinsing your mouth to try to clean out these pockets in your tonsils can be helpful. Sometimes, removal of the tonsils is needed. A visit to your ent can help to solidify the diagnosis and help monitor your progress. Good luck.
Since I can remember, I've had this paatch of crater like skin on my left tonsil. It also pushes out a white substance, hard and bead like. I have been to many doctors over the course of a few ears, only to ever be told I have a viral infection. How can one possibly have a viral infection each time I go to the doctor? I supress any cough with strepsils, but I don't feel anything from my tonsils, not pain no itchiness, however I do get sick frequently, an when I do, it usually always effects my throat. My throat has looked like this for many years, but I have only had strept throat a few times. What could this be? And should I get my tonsils removed?

Once I found out what the specifics I read up a little, and it sounds like tonsillar keratosis and I also found an entire paragraph describing exactly what I have been trying to decode for a few years now.
thanks so much and I will mention this to my dr. on my next visit.
