Burning Sensation During Sex

Before I got on the depo shot almost two years ago I loved to have sex.....It was amazing.  However, for the past 8 months sex has been painful for me.  When we are first starting out, everything is normal but after a few minutes I start to feel a burning sensation and it's hard for my significant other to penetrate me without it hurting him.  This pain gets so bad that I frequently have to make him stop, and it makes our relationship feel different.  I dont feel like I can please him anymore because of this pain.  Even after the sex it still burns, and even when I use the bathroom afterwards it burns even more.  I  just would like to find out why I'm feeling this pain during intercourse, it's really bringing my relationship down and I want to fix it.  Could it be from the depo shot [One of the side effects is vaginal dryness]  I really need help.    Thank you very much in advance for your help.

It definitely could be the dryness -- or it could be an allergic reaction to the lube you are using. Burning usually indicates the presence of either bacteria or something you're allergic to OR it is possible that the dryness is causing microscopic cuts inside you that can hurt pretty bad too! If you are using lube, read the ingredients and try a different one that has different ingredients. Being allergic to one filler agent can make all the difference! I also suggest seeing your gyno just to make sure it's nothing serious.
