What is happening to me?

Hello. Im a 43 yo man. I never had any trouble with my erections until about mid-may. I started Abilify around that time but has since stopped. I used Abilify for maybe a month. Since mid-may, my erections got gradually worse and now despite the fact I have fantasies that excite me nothing is happening with my penis. It either remains flaccid or gets only partly erect. I havent yet tried intercourse since I only recently met a woman and we arent at the stage of having sex yet. Would intercourse stimulation be enough to get my groove back? Should I ask my doctor to prescribe me the seroquel I had before since I used seroquel for a long time without it ever having any impact on my erections. I stopped Abilify on my own, my doctor doesnt know it. Does it mean my testosterone has become too low and if its the case what do I do about it? Does it mean Im stuck with ed for good and I need pills for it? Hope someone can help me. Thanks. DL

Well, you should NEVER stop medication on your own without notifying your doctor. Do you have a mood disorder or bipolar? That is really important to treat. Talk to your doctor. Seroquel works well instead of Abilify as you know (why did you change?) but there are others in the same class of drugs as well that are good medications. There are several to choose from. Seroquel is one and if it worked before, no reason to change. But that is between you and your doctor. You should definitely start there. That issue can impact erections as well as poor mental health can affect this.  Get the mental health sorted. Then get penis sorted.  But first step is talking to your doctor. Don't go the route of thinking you have actual clinical ed that needs treatment until you've sorted the other aspect out. I'm sure it is frustrating.
