I had vaginal burning and the doc did a test for bv, yeast, and trich, came back negative. Gave me a prescription for Cephalexin, diflucan, and prednisone.  I left undiagnosised.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Burning vagina can be due to a number of causes. First of all it can be due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis to your undergarments, sanitary napkins or tampons, soaps etc. There is no change in the colour or smell of discharge in this case. It can be due to an allergy to the IUD also in your case.

Secondly, It can be due to STD’s but there is a change in the discharge in this case. You need to get it evaluated from your gynecologist.
Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. For the itching take some antihistaminic like Benadryl
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Just regular soap, nothing with a scent.  I have been taking meds now for 24 hours, with little relief.  Open to suggestions.  I am going back to doctor on Monday.  Can you think of anything I should ask.

Do you use body washes or soaps to wash that area when you bathe? Using a feminine wash might help if the cause is simply sensitive skin.  Soaps and body washes can be harmful to the good bacteria in that area- some women are more sensitive to using them.
