ed self-test questiom

I saw online that ED can be tested by using a 1 inch thick strip of paper wrapped around the shaft base and taped. The instructions said it should be snug enough that iit'll rip or test if an erection occurs during sleep. I'm just anxious that maybe if I put it too tight it will cut off circulation and kill my penis permanently? And if it's too loose I might get false results.

Anyone done this?
Can I kill my penis permanently if its too tight?

I have heard of this type of test using postage stamps.  It would not "kill" your penis.  The paper band would be snug, close to the shaft, not tight.  Some types of paper and tape, I can imagine, are strong enough so that even with an erection, they will not rip and would not be a proper test.  Of course, this is unnecessary if you are knowingly waking up in the morning with an erection or you can attain an erection sexually, whether by masturbation or with a partner.
