Our daughter is 9 and has cerebral visual impairment/Balint's syndrome with normal acuity. She also has vitiligo. She has always complained of not being able to see in the dark and is much more likely to use her can in low lighitng conditions than in other conditions. The ophthalmologist has said her optic nerves are normal.
I just came across an article http://bjo.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract/67/3/153 which relates vitiligo to a condition akin to retinitis pigmentosa, the first sign of which is night blindness. Is this something I should bring to the attention of our daughter's ophthalmologist? If so, would waiting until her next appointment in June be OK?
Thank you!
