I suggest you read the Wikipedia article on eyeglass prescriptions here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyeglass_prescription
The blank columns indicate that there is no spherical correction (Sph) needed and visual acuity (VA) information was not provided.
Thanx for your reply
Can you clear my below query : -
After examination, the Doctor had confirmed following test results : -
Right
Sph Cyl Axis V.A
----- 4.0 180° -
Left
Sph Cyl Axis V.A
----- 4.5 180° -
IPD : 55mm
There is no value in Sph, V.A. column
how it should be read?
Eyeglass prescription is not related to the veins of the eyes.
Eye exercises do not improve vision.
You might wish to get a second opinion.
Yesterday the Doctor Assistant told us that 4.0 and 4.5 is not eye / final glass number.
It is the first step of treatment.
After using the glass of - Right Cyl 4.0, Left Cyl 4.5 for 3 months the vains of eyes will be open. Then after retesting of eyes, Glass no. will be given.
He also told us that after excercise Manual / by machines, Vision will improve
Is it correct ?
1) Describes the amount of astigmatism
2) Not a disease...just measures the corneal curvature
3) If prescription is gradually introduced, the child will see better
Should not cause a headache.
Thanx for feedback
But still I am not able to understand that what is exact meaning of Doctor Test Result.
Can you just tell me ?
1) What is the meaning of 4.0 and 4.5 ?
2) Does it come (Right 4.0 & Left 4.5) under bad condition ?
3) After using the glass, Will there any side effect on child ? ex - headache etc.
Dear Naveengems,
1) If this prescription is correct, I would recommend that the astigmatism correction be given gradually (partial) and not all at once as it would be difficult to adapt to it all at once. 2) Glasses with this prescription can certainly be given to a six year old boy
3) Unless another eye condition has been found, there is not reason to think the glasses would not correct the vision 4) It never hurts to get a second opinion from another doctor if you have doubts. The child should have a full cycloplegic refraction to determine his
exact prescription (this might have already been done).

Can anyone tell me please with above test results what should we assume : -
1) The eye sight is slightly bad or more bad ?
2) Can it be rectified in case of 6 years old boy
3) After using the glass, the eyes will be normal or not (Same as normal Person) ?
4) 4.0 and 4.5 seems to be very large nos. Should we consult another doctor?
1) This is the numerical description for an eyeglass prescription including the amount of
near or farsightedness (none) and astigmatism and what axis (cornea shaped more like a football (American) not a basketball). IPD is intrapupillary distance so that glasses can be properly made. This prescription is for a fair amount of astigmatism correction
2) This is not an equation which has a "solution" but a prescription for eyeglasses.
