Anyone with any ideas

I had left eye macular hole surgery 5 weeks ago. Kept 2 weeks face down. Was not easy. Started seeing in a very blurry way at the top of my visual field about 2-3 weeks after surgery. Five days ago I noticed a definite improvement but since then the visual field narrowed from the top down. Would this be a sign of retina detachment at the bottom of my eye which is now freed of the slowly contracting gas bubble? I heard that such retina detachment is a possible side effect of the surgery I had. Reading with my left eye is absolutely out of question at this point although I see on the exchanges on this board that others did read after 5 weeks. Seeing the doctor again in 2 days. Any input will be appreciated.

I had macular hole surgery on July 20, it was caused by acute retinal detachment, this happened in March.  I hear it works either way.  10 days after surgery Doc told me the hole was closed but I still cannot see clearly yet, there seems to be a white film over my vision, and a bullseye in the centre that flashes when I blink.  Gas bubble is much smaller now, I am terrified I would not get my vision back.

I am interested to know your doctor's diagnosis.
