Atropine eye drop to cure myopia

I have 10 years old daughter. She is myopic of  <-1 .
I have heard that weekly use of atropine eye drop reduces myopia.
If so than why not doctors are recommending it as preventive medicine to stop myopia.
Can i give this atropine 1% drop onec in a week .
I am myopic with -4 and my husband -2.

She will not be able to read with atropine.  It paralyzes accommodation.

Medical science has advanced in all fields but in curing myopic eyes using only medicine is still under development.
My question is:
1. I Can i apply atropine drop( <1%) once in a week (at weekend) before going to bed in night ?.
2. For How long pupils are dilated(one day or two day)?

3.Can giving vitamins actually reduce the myopia effect?
