Double vision/ Diplopia

Hello,  I'm a 39 yr old female and I have been dealing with double vision for over a year and it is intermitten double vision, where I see two images side by side.  I also have a multi-nodule goiter, which I found this out about a year ago, I had a thyroid biopsy a week ago, NO cancer, but I have a hard time swallowing.  I have been to a neuro-opth, he said I have dry eyes, and told me to use natural tears, which I have been, but the double vision is still there and it is driving me NUTS. My TSH was normal. But I'm wondering if a multi-nodule goiter can cause double vision, I was told by the doctor that sent me to have the biopsy done that a multi-nodule goiter could not cause double vision? I'm so lost with all of this, I"m starting to think that I'm crazy.  If you can shed any light on this, please, please help me.

Thank You,

keenkeen

Convergence insufficiency is often treated with prism reading glasses. Eye exercises called pencil push-ups can be used but like any exercise people don't like doing them and stop doing them.

I googled Strabismus, I'm not quite sure if that sounds like my double vision, but you did lead me to a very good website and I found something called Convergence Insufficiency?  I have alot of the symptoms, most all of them!!!!  Thank You.  I know this is not a cure, but it sure shed some light.  I will be calling  my eye doctor.

Thank You,

Strabismus?  What exactly is this?  Also you don't think my thyroid has anything to do with my double vision?

Thanks,

Keenkeen  ask your neuro-ophthalmologist to refer you to a eye muscle (strabismus) specialist for evaluation and treatment of your double vision.

I too have been dealing with this for over 1 1/2 years. They first said it was hormones because I was on fertility drugs.  Then a CT scan showed an abnormal spot that that landed me at a neurologist.  I was having constant headaches and migraines on top of the double vision that would come and go. New diagnosis pseudotumorcrani.  Now they just think I am having silent migraines.  Like you I am very confused.  I am on a ton of meds to prevent migraines.  So I don't think is it either.  I have had migraines since I was a kid nothing ever like this.  This is driving me nuts too.  One question keenkeen.  Can you describe you double vision.  It has taken me a long time to figure it out.  Mine is like scoopy-doo's  more flash colored light doubled not two images side by side.
