Post Operative -Scleral Buckle Surgery Droopy Eyelid

I am 30 years old and on 07/01/09 had a Retinal Detachment. I had a Scleral Buckle Surgery done and almost 8 weeks later my eye looks smaller, lazy, and the eyelid looks droopy. My Dr. told me to give it 6 months for it to maybe go back to normal but I have a feeling that won't happen. Anyone else that has had this happened to them? Has it improved overtime? I really hate the way my eye looks.

I have this problem as well.  Two surgeries in 5 months first time Vitrectomy with Nitrogen bubble and the droop went away after 3 months.  Then a second, much worse tear because of scar tissue and then I got the full blown treatment with buckle and oil filling in the eye.  It has been nearly 6 weeks and my eye is only 30% open due to the lid drooping.  Hopefully everything will go back to normal.

This is a not uncommon problem with scleral buckle surgery. As you were told it often improves and sometimes goes away over six months. If not then an oculoplastic surgeon can do "ptosis" surgery.
