Can I start wearing contact lens while this period?

A month ago, I started doing eye exercises with yoga and wearing 0.5 less power glasses(i.e. my power is -2.5, I started -2.0)
I have Myopia- problem seeing distant object
Now, I can see very clearly with these lesser power glasses...so I am continuing doing this by decreasing power step by step

Can I use contacts for this period, I want these nose marks to be gone...I will have to wear them 6-8hrs a day, and rest of the day I will remain with my naked eyes only

any suggestions!
