Retinal degeneration - option for pars plans vitrectomy

I have retinal degeneration and have had laser treatment. I recently experienced a retinal hemorrhage resulting in blindness in one eye.My retinal specialist because of the bleed could not determine the cause of the bleed. The retinal specialist has recommended 2 options:
1. Have Pars Plana Vitrectomy
2. Wait for the bleeding to heal on its own

I was wondering what your thoughts are on these 2 options

I am leaning towards the Pars Plana Vitrectomy. What can I expect on recovery

These cases are all different and it is not possible to generalize like when cataract surgery is done. Generally many retina surgeons might wait a couple of weeks to see if the blood would settle quickly. If not then proceed with PPV.

Thanks Dr. Hagan!

What are the risks of waiting a couple of weeks? Is there a possibility of the eye further deteriorating?
There is  lots of lattice degeneration according to 2 different retinal specialists. Also,  I have had lots of laser done already as recent as 6 months ago.
Thanks so much for your input
Please read my first sentence again. Cannot generalize.
