something in my eye after two and a half weeks from cataract surgery

After cataract removal from my left eye everything seemed fine. When I returned home the following week I started to get a feeling of grit in my eye.  Now four weeks later the problem occurs every night.  Doctors can find nothing in or about my eye.  When this happens my eye streams constantly for two or more hours and the pain is relieved by taking 2 celebrex tablets.  By morning my eye is sore but all day it feels dry and rather rough.  Do you have any idea what the problem is? It will drive me crazy if it continues much longer.  Keith.

I've just arrived home from my second cataract operation.   This time there is no complications whatsoever.   My Doctor is of the opinion that I was allergic to the preservative in the eye-drops that were prescribed.   Now I have a different brand of eye-drops and there is no trouble at all.     The discomfort experienced in the first eye pales into insignifigance when the result of perfect viusion is restored.  For me, a new life has opened up and I must acknowledge the amazing expertise that has been developed to bring about such fantastic results.
Thank you to everyone for your help.   Keith.

Sounds like dry eye which I found out after-the-fact often goes along with cataract surgery.  Running a vaporizer in the bedroom at night, putting lubricant gel in eye before bed, natural tears in eye on waking, using hot (warm) packs a couple of times a day.....could help.  And see what you can pick up from dryeyezone.com   Hope this helps.

Thank you Doctor for your help.  I will be seeing my surgeon next Monday.  Hopefully she will be able to find the problem.   Kind regards. Keith.

Consider one more visit in the near future to see your surgeon. If they turn up nothing get a second opinion.
