Cataract after vitrectomy
How long after vitrecomy should I wait to have cataract surgery?  It's been 14 weeks since surgery the eye is still slightly dilated. The surgery was deemed successful but my vision is poor due to cataract.

This discussion is related to Blurred vision after surgery for detached retina.

You would need to wait til your retina surgeons releases you and specifically tells you and your cataract surgeon that surgery is okay to do.  You should also discuss the dilated pupil with both surgeons as its possible the dilated pupil may permanently be larger than the other eye.

Thank you for your reply. What are the side effects of one pupil being permanently larger. My surgeon thought my vision could be corrected with new glasses, when I went to the optometrists he referred me to a cataract surgeon.

If its small difference likely none at all. If quite large sensitivity to light and reading difficulties.
