Suddenly lights are too bright

I suddenly started having this symptom of lights seeming to be brighter. It started about a week ago with a sharp headache across my forehead followed by nausea, periorbital eye pain on left eye only, and then the photosensitivity.

Today, everything is too bright. I thought someone had turned up the brightness on my LCD display and I checked it. It's down to nothing yet it seems very bright. It makes my left eye hurt.

The television is too bright now too.

HX: I had Narrow-Angle Glaucoma in my right eye in 2006.

You always begin an evaluation of this problem by an eye exam with an ophthalmologist Eye MD (preferred) or an non-physician OD optometrist.

Thanks John again.

I went to my eye doctor on Wednesday, May 14, and she found no indication that this was a Narrow-Angle Glaucoma attack. She also did a visual field test to confirm her diagnosis of migraine. There was actually an improvement of my visual field from four months ago.

I had these symptoms while taking Cytomel for Hashimoto's. The Cytomel caused an adverse reaction, Atrial Fibrillation, for which had to be treated in the ICU over Mother's Day weekend.

My ophthalmologist believes the Cytomel is the culprit for the eye symptoms and headache.

Angle closure glaucoma in almost all cases is a BILATERAL disease. Call right now and ask for an emergency appointment.

Thank you for your answer. The right eye has the laser opening. The left eye never got one because the Narrow-Angle Glaucoma was not seen in it. I have checkups every six months. Obviously I need to see my ophthalmologist sooner.

See you ophthalmologist IMMEDIATELY.  Hopefully you've has laser openings put in both iris.  They could block off and the IOP could be high. There are other problems that require urgent treatment (iritis for example) that can cause this.

Forgot to mention, before this all started I had this effect in my sight which looks like black snow. I've had this for a while, more than two months.
