Cataracts Surgery and oil removal after RD - follow up

Hi all!
Here I am 8 days after my surgery, doc said it was all fine IOP is good and retina attached.
Using just 2 eye drops, corticoid and antibiotics ( leaving the second in 2 more days..)
I see  the habitual small floaters AND some new kind of ones: They are like round bubbles with a contourn black, and appears more when I move faster.
What can those to be? Silicone Oil Residues? If so, will they stay there forever?
Doc said it can be caused for lens is not fixed yet.Is it a real possibility?
He also mentioned a laser session for the future( 4months ahead) for "cleaning",Im not worried about but wanted to know what does he mean, since he said its not like the laser I had for prevent detachments some times.
Does anybody here had this bubbles?

About 4 days after completing one month pos- op I stated feeling something really bothering inside.I was afraid lens had moved or something had entered there.
Maybe be getting an infection, cos I was stoping eye drop.
It was weekend and I was the only one worried about, so I just mailed my doctor.
He said nothing so I decided wait for my appt.
This week the stuff is gone - I do hope :-) Thats why I'm happy...
Another weekend is coming...

Man, you was right, its about a Yag laser,
Doct mailed me and said the risk is smaller cos I had a vitrectomy already.
I have to talk better with him next appointment.
Did you have one laser this kind? It was somehow helpful for you?
Not sure If I want one if just for the bubbles ,,,
I'll be back when possible, sorry for my delay.

Dr Jonh, eyes territory is such as mysterious one...

Candace, the bubbles are like you mentioned and they dont botter me very much.

Matt, good to see you again...I will search more about that capsulometry and also mail my doctor about, hope he replies...
Do you know if a capsule clouded makes the vision for colours bad at mediun distance ( as the Tv distance one)?
Do this laser can cause a redetachment?

Thank you all!

Just some guesses from a fellow patient - the "bubbles" of residual oil floating in the saline water in your eye make sense.  You'd see them when you look down - I'm guessing.  The two liquids won't mix, and the oil probably won't dissolve either.  (I've got sinking bubbles of PFO fluid in my eye still from vitrectomony two years ago - interesting to watch when I look at the ceiling or sky.  But they are small enough not to interfere with my vision during normal activities).
The laser "cleaning up" mentioned sounds like YAg laser capsulotomy - once the replacement lens (the IOL) is healed into place into the lens capsule, then, if the capsule has become clouded (a very common side effect of gas bubbles, vitrectomy and IOL implantation), then a small window can be cut in the capsule with the YAg laser to let light pass through clearly.  It's a very common procedure.  The lens implant needs time to heal into place before this is done.
I'm just guessing from your comments.  Ask your doctor for more details.

Hi,
I had silicone oil as well for an RD.  When the oil was removed, 4 months ago, I had lots of little round circles with a dark border, all but one have disappeared at this point.  My doctor told me that he replaced the silicone with saline and the residual oil bubbles float around easy in the saline.  As your eye is gradually filled with vitreous material, the silicone bubbles will settle in the bottom and not move as easily as he vitreous material is much thicker.  I only really notice the one bubble moving around when I lower my head and look down.  The technician made a comment one day that once in a while, they have to go back and do another vitrectomy if too much oil is still floating around and bothering patients months after, but it is very rare.  I wonder if that's what your doctor meant by cleaning up?

I have no idea what "cleaning up' means you will need to ask for clarification.

New appt last wednesday, doctor keeps saying its all right ,normal iop.
Not checked for detachments cos he had marked the wrong time at his schudule and by the time he saw me no one had dilated my eyes...
Did relatively well on that vision chart stuff - joked with him cos she was not beeing able to move the numbers and I was seing nothing...
For some reason he decided set my laser for cleaning for the next appt.
Could someone tell me what that "cleaning" means ,generaly speaking?
He said is for I had oil for a long.
Will the new bubbles maybe disappear after?

I did! Just I'mnot completely satisfied with his reply ...
As I told you, he said it was all fine - and it was too early to think about the laser...
But I liked that doc more than my first one, anyway.

This soon after surgery you should be directing those questions to your surgeon.
