Chalazion

I have a small chalazion on my bottom eyelid for the last 2 months.  I went to the doctor who told me it will go away on its own eventually, and it could take up to a year.  She then told me to do warm compresses daily.  I did that for a few days but I noticed everytime I did the warm compresses the chalazion would get a lot bigger and more noticeable. I found that if I leave it alone and do nothing it stays the same size, but I want it to go away completely.  Are there any other ways to do this aside from the warm compresses, which are apparently making the problem worse?

Hi There!

I just wanted to share with you my positive experience regarding a chalazion. I developed a chalazion about 10 days ago and I was scared that it was going to stay for a very long time and then after some research (days and days i might say) I read that someone's chalazion had gone away after three days of crying over the loss of a lost one. At first I was afraid to cry, thinking it would aggravate it, but then I realized that I was stressing out about it so much that the stress might be also making it worse. So I decided to let myself cry over it for about an hour (I did NOT rub my eyes at all). Today my chalazion is noticeably smaller!! I also did a lot of warm compress which might have helped too, but I really think the crying did it!

Good luck, and happy crying! :)
