Crystalens does not stay put (focused)

Hi,
I had the crystalens implanted on my left eye three weeks ago.
  1. First Week I saw hallow and then it was gone :-)
  2. Second week I had severe glare then it was gone, well almost :-|
  3. This third week, I think I am having this issue:
I keeps "shivering" inside my eye and thus keeps changing the focus.
I know it is shivering, because, when a light source comes straight from top, I could "see" (ie: using peripheral vision) the rings of glare at the bottom right corner -- this DOES NOT affect me as it is only in the peripheral vision. Anyways, I could "see" this rings shaking.  I guess the crystalens is trying react to the eye's natural focusing power.

Sorry about the big story above, but you get the point!
When I trying to see a letter, it keeps changing! It is B then it is F then it 8 and all kinds of letter and some times grayed or white out!

Will it go away!  For the right eye I will go with standard IOL as, it will at least stay put at one focusing point and I can wear corrective glass -  I am have been using progressive lens for a decade and I am fine with that.

Thanks much for MDs sharing your opinions and others sharing your experience.

Have a Great Day!

Use the search feature and archives to read the many posts about These Crystalens problems. Sometimes they go away but it can take a long time (ie 6-12 months) Sometimes they do not go away and you either live with them or have a IOL exchange

Thanks a lot Dr Hagan!

Hmm, so it looks like I have paid almost $3000 extra for this lens just to get into trouble. And there is not customer service or anything available from crystalens guys :-)  When I googled, all I find it their mockery  comments about their own customers on how they sent her back when she came with an issue.

So, is this exchange of standard IOL is possible?  Will exchange create more problem on the eye that has got already operated?  Is it simple to remove this 'hinged' crystalens from my eye?

Have a Good Day!

Three weeks is not normally enough time to say whether you will or will not adjust toyour new vision.
I suggest you get a second opinion.

Crystalens HD is the best of the multifocal IOLs on the market in the USA.

Removing and exchanging an IOL is just as big of deal as the original surgery.
