Eye "Sparkler"

I had a torn retina in December which was successfully repaired with laser surgery.  At my 1-week checkup, all was well, but on way home I noted a 'sparkler' effect in the lower left portion of my eye that had never been there before.  It reminds me of a 4th of July sparkler or occasionally rippling water.  They had done a lot of probing and poking on that eye, so I assumed it was from that and would go away, but it never has.  It's pretty much there all the time, occasionally not there when I first wake up in the morning, but before long it's back and stays there all day.  I went for my 1-month checkup recently and asked the eye doctor about it but she had no clue what could be causing it.  Has anyone else had this following retinal tear repair?

Flashes are a sign of vitreous traction.   A retinal tear occurs because the vitreous pull away from the retina with degeneration (usually aging change).  It usually start at the top and continues down.  A tear can occur if an area of retina is weak or if the vitreous attachment is very strong.

You need to keep an follow this and return ASAP to your doctor is new floaters also occur.
