I used to work in the practise where we saw many patients who came for 2nd and even 3rd or 4th opinions. It's your eyes so make sure you have the best surgeon to operate on your them.I think doctors should understand that it is patient's decision which lens they want to use (of course after doctor's recommendation).I've seen patients after they had ReStor and other type of lens and they were satisfied with the results. One important thing I came to notice is that it's important to know what are patient's "vision expectations are, so the doctor can suggest which type of lens is the best suitable for each patient
Elea, I had a Crystalens implant 11 days ago. While It still may improve, I think the odds are stacked against me with all the problems(ie, double vision, white arcs, halos, starbursts, no dim light vision, no far or near vision, glare, ghosting, flickering) I will make an appointment for a consultation regarding possible explant.
The sales pitches from the opthamologist come before you buy the lens. I think obtaining a second or third opinion from a dr. that didn't perform the implant is a good idea. You may find that the doctor that implanted your lens feels it is fine because it would mean more chair time or additional percedures at possible little to no cost that he/she feels they can charge you for. Whereas, another doctor can and will charge for their time so you may get the help you need.
Get a second opinion. You probably have residual astigmatism.
