Cylindrical Power

I have been wearing specs since I was 14 years of age. Initially I was diagnosed of spherical power but later it was detected cylindrical. Now I have been told that with regular usage of specs my eye power will remain stagnant. However it is not the case. Even after regular use of specs the power has increased over the past two years and I experience extreme pain around my eyes, head and shoulders. Am I going wrong somewhere?

Glasses will not cure myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism nor will it make it worse no make it go away.
