Thanks. I'm really hoping it will just go away on It's own as It's kind of ruling my life right now worrying about It. If anyone else has had a similar experience or any Information please let me know.
I wish you best of luck. Your symptoms are not suggestive of some ultra-serious diagnosis. However I cannot give you a definitive diagnosis or prognosis. JCH MD
-I googled central serous retinopathy and I don't think It is that, thankfully. As you said It seems the spot Is always present whereas mine is not.
Thanks for such a swift reply.
I've had it for around 3 days now and I can't really tell if it's gotten any worse/bigger but it is still present, It's not present with EVERY blink, It may sound weird but i noticed it's always present when i am looking down at my bathroom sink[ Which is bright white] I don't see it at all unless i am blinking or I noticed i slightly see it when i squint the eye that it appears in. I actually have done the amsler grid test and as far as I am aware My results are normal, I don't see any distortions in the lines, though i just did it on my monitor a few times. I don't believe i have any other visual abnormalities that i haven't always had . I noticed some people online say they notice it when they "recreate" a blink by covering that eye then uncovering or moving their hand past their eye but for me none of those make it appear, only squinting or blinking.
If you will look at the postings you will find a thread that has gone on for years and has over 700 postings about people that see a light spot when they blink; some of the postings report a dark spot. Most of these people have had normal eye exams many with special tests such as macular OCT or fluorscene angiograms. The fatigue should not cause this.
There is a common disorder called central serous retinopathy that might cause this. The only way to tell would be to see an ophthalmologist and have some special testing. Generally this problem the spot is "always there". If there is distortion, subnormal vision then an exam is mandatory. If its only what you describe you might be able to 'monitor" it to see if it goes away over the next week or so. Google "Amsler Grid" read about the test, print out a amsler grid and test each eye separately. If there is distortion of the grid for sure see an Eye MD
