Determining cause of missing vision/aberration
I am 38 years old with myopic degeneration with laquer cracks. I also have phakic impants which resulted in increased eye pressures (24/25 from 10/12). A couple of months after surgery, I noticed that my blind spot in the left eye is very large and I have bowing distortion of vertical objects around the missing vision. After workups by retinal specialist and glaucoma specialist (fundus exam, OCT, visual fields, ERG), I still do not know whether my problem is due to myopic degeneration or damaged optic nerve.
1) Can the cause of my visual distortion be determined?
2) Should I seek additional opinion?
Additionally, no ophthalmologist seems able to give me any info. regarding my future as to whether I am a risk of blindness or how much time (statistical ave.) until I lose my reading/driving vision? Internet does not provide very much info. on myopic degeneration. Any experts in the field on myopic degeneration in U.S.? I will go anywhere.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
1. Distortion is a macular symptom not a glaucoma symptom.
2. Myopic macular degeneration and glaucoma are both capable of causing blindness or bad vision. You cannot calculate the odds of either causing blindness in your case.
3. You should be under the care of a glaucoma specialist and a retina specialist. You might consider removing the intraocular contact lens (if that's what you had).
4. Be sure you've had a macular OCT test.
