• Hi
I visited the optician at the end of May 2008 and after my looking at an Amsler grid he said he was going to refer me to my GP as a patch of the lines on it were all squiggly. I had noticed this for some time beforehand but hoped it would just get better. Although he didn't make a comment about there actually being any thing physically wrong.
I got an appointment to see the opthamologist at my local hospital. The examination was today with eye drops and a slit lamp and he said everything seemed ok but there was a 'mottled' patch just off the centre of my field of vision - which would tie in with where the squiggly lines are.
He is going to arrange an appointment for a Fluorescein Angiogram. I'm not sure why if he said everything seemed fine. My main question is really, if i am seeing the squiggly lines on an Amsler Grid, can this be caused by many things? I have no spots or patches where I don't have any vision, just these squiggly lines when I look at anything straight.
Thanks
Michael
