Double Vision when looking straight ahead

Hi.

I just got new glasses. Have been wearing my other glasses for about 3 and half years until I decided to get new ones. These glasses I have been wearing for a total of 2 days now and my eyes still haven't adjusted to them yet. Well, looking straight ahead they haven't. I see double if I'm looking straight ahead. Now if I tilt my head downwards and look up, holding my glasses up aswell, I can see perfectly. Also if I turn my head to the side, I don't seem to have any problem. This only occurs if I'm looking straight ahead.

Could someone possibly tell me why this is happening?

You should bring this to the attention of the ophthalmologist or optometrist that wrote your new glasses prescription. Usually you can have a glasses recheck of new glasses for no additional charge. The Eye MD or optom should then work with you to get the optician that made the glasses to make the necessary changes. if these are made within the first 30 days most optiicians do not charge for the remake.  BUT don't just keep them for 30 days without telling them or you'll end up with a pair you can't wear.

Don't hesitate to go back to the glasses provider. It could be as simple as a frame adjustment, OR, if you have progressive lenses, it is not uncommon to need a couple weeks to get used to a new script.  Don't give up until you are happy with your new glasses.
