Droopy eyelid and blurry distorted vision

I just had cataract surgery on my left eye on Dec.14 2010. My vision is worse than before surgery. I am having trouble with distance,I am seeing everything distorted.I am afraid to walk alone in public places.Things seem to be farther away and weird looking. Also my eye looks droopy and closed more than before surgery.I compared it with a picture of myself in Nov. Before surgery and it looks very different. It has changed the way I look.My family has noticed it also. I have been to see my surgeon twice since with my concerns and she just keeps saying it's fine. That there is nothing wrong. I know there is something very wrong. I am also seeing blurry in that eye.I am supposed to have my other eye done but refuse since I can see better out of this eye than the other eye. Why doesn't my doctor believe me? She seemed very impatient with me and said if I'd like I can go for another opinion and gave me more eye drop Xibrom and said I have dry eyes.Could dry eyes cause all that I am experiencing? Will the droopy eye lid ever go away on it's own? Do you have any idea what could be causing the distorted distant vision? Have you heard of this after cataract surgery?I am trying to locate a very good eye surgeon right now.Can you help me with any of these issues?I am filled.  With anxiety over this and just want my sight and look of my eye back Please help if you can with any ideas or suggestions. Thank you!

He hasn't had the surgery yet but will in the near future. Sorry your surgery did not turn out as well as his. One of my sisters also had successful cataract surgery. Fortunately she did not develop droopy eyelids. They both got monofocal lenses.

The droopy eyelid is a not uncommon side effect of the surgery. My brother was delighted with the cataract surgery (both eyes), but he developed the same problem you have. He was advised to have plastic surgery.

Go get another opinion (or two). Find an ophthalmologist at www.aao.org   this is not a typical cataract surgery recovery.
