It is possible to measure the topology of the cornea.
I wonder though if the eye's lenses can have astigmatism? And if so is it possible to measure their topology in a similar fashion to the way we can measure the cornea's topology?
Thanks for the answer, I didn't know that OCT can measure this as well. I had OCT exams but as part of a retinal prevention checkup (due to my myopia).
One more thing if I may. If you check my history I asked a lot here about a blurry spot in my right eye's central vision that couldn't be explained by anything ever after a comprehensive dilated eye examination (which was more targeted towards checking my retina health and cornea's topology).
Do you think that very narrow blurry spot could be due to a lens disorder? Googling this lead me to "lenticonus", unsure if that would explain my symptoms.
Lenticonus should be easy for your ophthalmologist to see with your pupils dilated. Measuring the lens shape with OCT is a special application and requires special equipment and software.
It really is, so I guess after my visits the doctors would have found it instantly. I think then I don't have this condition but I have its hallmarks mentioned (high astigmatism, blur in central vision etc), strange. Anyway thank you for the info.
