Possible Retina Detachment??

Hello.  Healthy 45 year old female.  Just had physical and eye exam within last few months.

I have severe myopia, (-7.5).

2 times in the last two weeks, I've experience what I now think is the "curtain effect" over my right eye.

During the night, I checked my phone for time, laid back down and even in the dark, could tell I lost my vision in eye.
I rubbed my eye, thinking I had something in it, but still couldn't see.  I have two windows in bedroom that have light shining through. I held my hand over bad eye, total darkness. Hold hand over bad eye, can see fine out of left eye. This lasted about 3 minutes.

No pain, no onset of new floaters so to speak.  All seems well.  I do not get migraines, so this cannot  be a reason.

I can't see this being a normal part of aging but could there be a benign reason for this happening?

Should I schedule an eye appt immediately?

Thanks.

Thank you Dr! I went to see my eye doctor and he suggested the same thing, along with Ocular Migraine without the headache.  He is sending me  for bloodwork to just make sure it's benign. My eyes are perfect structurally and no retinal detachment.  It's scary when it happens. Just afraid it will happen when Im driving. Thanks again.

I must add that on both occasions, this happened at night. Any significance?
