Eye Problem: Blurry Vision

Eye Problem: Blurry Vision

I went to the ophthalmologist with an eye problem and he recommended glasses. I have been wearing them for about three weeks now and have noticed changes in my normal vision ( without the glasses). My normal vision has become blurry and i have problems seeing things some distance away . This was never a problem before. In fact  i have never had a problem with my eyes except for that one occasion where i went to the ophthalmologist. Furthermore, i have been experiencing headaches when i wear the glasses. There is also this bit of tension at the back of my head on both sides. Is any of this normal?? Should i continue wearing the glasses or go back for another checkup?

I should tell you that i went to the ophthalmologist not because i had a vision problem but rather because my eyes became red and itchy.I have never had a problem seeing before. The ophthalmologist said i had 20/20 vision but had a slight nearsightedness problem hence he recommended glasses but i can see properly when i take them off now and its scaring me.

Yesterday i woke up and the redness was back. Today it has subsided somewhat. I am really confused about what is going on.
