Will posterior capsular opacification cause further harm to my eye if untreated?

I have posterior capsular opacification on my right eye and I am scheduled for YAG two weeks later. However my vision has gotten worse each day.

My right eye vision is so blurry that even a 5x5 cm letter is unreadable right in front of me. I have to depend on my left eye entirely.

I have called in the clinic and requested earlier date but they told me there are no early available slots for YaG except for the date which I was given.

Should I go immediately to an eye specialist or can I wait till my appointment for the YaG laser treatment?

Will the PCO cause permanent damage to my right eye because it is getting worse each day, if I wait for two weeks later, will the YaG be able to successfully clear my PCO?

Please help.

IF your problem is PCO waiting will not hurt. However if there was a sudden change or new symptoms its possible something else has developed. GIven a yag capsulotomy takes about 2-3 minutes to do its amazing they will not add you on to the schedule immediately. We do yags same week patient needs it.

So I would go in at least to see the Eye MD to confirm its not a new problem.
Thanks for the advise. I will schedule a checkup asap.
Best of luck
