Eye looks sunken and different after scleral buckle retinal detachment surgery

2 weeks after scleral buckle surgery for detached retina.  At first,  eye was really swollen,  lid  closed,  now I'm noticing my eye looks different, sunken and smaller. My pupil isn't straight forward,  it's kinda pointing down. Does this go away and eye look normal?  I know I should be grateful that I'll see after all this,  (came on very quickly with only a few flashes and a shadowy area in my eye) but being a woman and my eyes always been my best feature,  I'm devastated to think it's always going to look like this!  Please help..
