Eyelid Inflammation and Extreme Pain

by CynLkN, Jul 09, 2008 11:04PM
Over the past 36 hours my left eyelid has swollen drastically, is very painful, difficult to close, burns when closed...  I recently broke my nose and had swollen eyes (drastic) for approximately one week after trauma from a suspected seizure.  Any clue as to what's going on with my eye?

This could be a very serious eye problem called orbital cellulitis or a less serious pre-septal orbital cellulitis.  If you are ill, feverish or in pain go to an emergency room. Otherwise early tomorrow call for an emergency exam by an ophthalmologist, eye MD physician. Find one at www.aao.org  or ask your personal MD to make a emergency referral.

Last night I applied a patch of colloidal silver and slept with it on my eye.  My eye oozed yellow stuff.  It is also more swollen - into the upper eyelid portion.  My doctor called to make me an emergency exam with an Opthamologist and the earliest he can see me is next Tuesdy.  I do not have a fever, however, upon waking this morning my eye was 'glued' shut by the oozing.  It was also very difficult to open.  I can only open it a sliver.  And, it is very painful.  It is also watering now.  Is there any way I could send you a picture of my eye and the condition it is in?  My e-mail address is ***@****.  It would be greatly appreciated.  I need to know that I am not panicking over nothing.

Thank you for your time and advice,
