LRI / Lazy Eye

WDK
I have posted previously on this site in regards to astigmatism.
LRI has been recommended for me and is a procedure which I hope to proceed with, in the next few months
My dominant (right) eye has generally good and acceptable vision,

However, the main problem I have is with left eye, as its a 'lazy eye'. Its almost as if its not there.
Do you know if there is any increased risk associated with having LRI surgery performed on a "lazy eye"?

The prescription that my left eye has is:
Sphere +4.75
Cylinder: -3.00
Axis: 175

Thanks for your response
I see what what you saying. LRIs may improvement my astigmatism slightly but wouldn't help my extreme longsightedness problem.

I have already been to see a LASIK consultant who advised that my left eye wasn't suitable for LASIK, presumably due to my particular prescription. In any case, I would be concerned about LASIK 'flap dislodgment' afterwards, as I am involved in a lot of contact sports (Tae-Kwon-Do)

Would LASEK treatment usually offer similar results as LASIK?

I would recommend LASIK to correct this type of error.  Three diopters of LRI correction is on the difficult side and it would not correct your hyperopia.   You are in a moderately difficult zone for hyperopic correction( +3.25 spherical equivalent).

This will not correct the lazy eye component but may improve vision.
