Fluid around optic nerve

Hello my daughter is 8.  We saw our regular ophthalmologist 2 weeks ago and she stated that my daughters optic nerve had changed.  So we saw a pediatric Ophthalmologist today and he stated that she has fluid around both her optic nerves.  I saw the xray and it looks like white circle around the nerve.  My nephew has Neurofibromatosis but my sister stated this is not the same.  My daughter also has sleep apnea and I was wondering if the pressure from her cpap machine could have caused this.  If not could you give me an idea of what could be the cause.  We have an MRI scheduled for next Thursday but I am anxious to know what the causes are.  I have not been able to find out any info.  thanks

When I was a young child, I was told that my optic discs looked raised. I was told that in fact for many years. When I was 39, I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis. I had a more thorough eye exam and found to have Optic Nerve drusen. Apparently, the Drusen are "hidden" behind the nerve causing the raised appearance, and as you get older, the drusen are more apparent. I don't know if Neurofibromatosis causes the drusen, but I do have both.
