Hello,
About three weeks ago, I started noticing grainy vision in the dark...like watching tv static. I went to the eye doctor and he said I have PVD (I'm 49)...he said the grainy vision will probably go away after the vitreous finishes detaching from the retina. I know floaters and flashing lights are common symptoms of PVD and suppose to decrease over time, but I haven't read much about grainy/static vision (in the dark/dim room) linked to PVD- is this possible? I really don't notice the grainy vision in the daytime....it's pretty much non existent in the daylight, so it sounds like a low light issue (similar to how a video camera has grainy images when in shot low light). If the vitreous is constantly tugging on and stimulating the retina, I suppose the grainy vision problem can occur when there's no/low light hitting the retina???
