Retina fluid with a laser treatment

I went through 3 surgeries last year (buckle, silicon oil and removal) because of retina detachment and the recovery went well since. One weeks ago, my doctor found some fluid at the edge of my retina in the same eye. He gave me 3 options - laser the edge to weld the fluid spreading; injecting gas bubbles or another surgery. He recommended the first one and that's what we did. I went back this one week later and he said the laser worked, no more surgery and come back in a month.

My questions are:

- i do see a minor shadow/distortion in my eye and will this remain forever? or it will get better?
- i kind of feel the shadow getting slightly bigger (in the dark) but in normal lighting my vision is fine. It may be my illusion (I guess).
- would the edge of my retina remain with the fluid or eventually it will dry up?

My doctor seems to be very optimistic about the laser and said i should be fine from now on. But having gone through the nightmares last year, I am a bit concerned.

That question has been posted her several times and is extensively discussed. Many people find those symptoms go away over 4-6 months while other are still symptomatic after a year or more.  So its not possible to give you a definitive answer. your surgeon can offer the best estimate.
