Growth in eye corner

Hello!

So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance.  Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye.  Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose.  It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.  It has been 3 weeks and it is not going away, whether I wear contacts or glasses doesn't affect it.

Obviously it's time to go to the doctor, except that I am scared of the doctor, but time to suck it up and go.  BUT, now I don't have vision insurance.  I don't know much about insurance, etc, only 21, so I need some advice.  Can I just show up at a clinic and see anyone, or what?  If I go to my eye doctor, I don't have vision insurance so really don't want to pay for that all by myself.

The pictures are of course horrible but hopefully they will give you an idea.  It's obviously not life threatening but just annoying and out of nowhere.

Please help!

The picture is terrible. You don't need visual care insurance for this you need medical insurance and to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist a physician that does meedical and surgical eye care.

If you have insurance through your employer talk to the human resources person or the insurance agent about how to make an appointment.

That is generally the case visual care is for glasses and contacts and NO medical problems.

Medical insurance is for medical problems.like this. You also have to consider deductibles and co-payments. You need to sit down with a knowledgable person at work and go over your policy.

Ok that makes sense, so even if I go to an eye doctor, the medical insurance covers it becuase the vision insurance is just specifically for vision problems right, as in glasses and contacts, not all eye related problems?
