Haloes around street lights, traffic lights, headlights.

I recently got into a car accident two weeks ago.  In the past four days I've been seeing haloes around street lights, traffic lights, headlights of automobiles.  The first time I experienced this was two months ago, and the condition ended after one day.  the haloes have got dimmer and smaller each day for the last four days though.  I've been staring at a computer screen more than usual for the last five days.  I have not counted out that I might have pre diabetes. Should I seek help at once or should I not panic and see if the haloes disappear?  What could cause this and what should I do?

There are many causes of those symptoms. Your first action is to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one at www.geteyesmart.org or ask your family MD to refer you.

Halos around lights can indicate corneal swelling which has several causes one of which is the rare but serious angle closure glaucoma (often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, red painful eye).

I would call an Eye MD tomorrow early and try and find one that has Saturday hours and go in for a "medical work in". Find one at www.aao.org
