Hazy Vision

This past July I started experiencing hazy vision when I get out of the shower. It doesn't happen everyday, usually once or twice a week. It doesn't last long, usually about 4 or 5 minutes, but it only happens after getting out of the shower. I notice that it is worse when I am by a window when the sunlight is coming in. At first I thought it was just the steam from the shower, but I went to other rooms of the house and the hazy vision was still there. Any idea what is going on? I was just at the eye doctor this past June and everything was fine.

There are several possibilities: one is that the show is a trigger for an occassional ophthalmic migraine, second that the water of the shower irritates the surface of your cornea and it's blurred until the irritated area smoothes over.

Now don't let this alarm you because it's very rare but some patient with multiple sclerosis if they do anything that raise the body temperature like exercise, sauna hot shower it causes blurry vision until they cool off. It's calle Uhtroff's symptom (Not sure exact spelling). If you have MS in your family or other unexplained neurological symptoms consider seeing a neurologist.

Lastly be sure the "eye doctor" you saw had an MD after his name  and was an ophthalmologist. If the "eye doctor" had an OD after his/her name then you saw a non-physician, limited care provider. You need to see an ophthalmologist Eye MD for a medical exam.

I forgot to mention that I experience ocular migraines and floaters. Both of them came on after a car accident this past April. I went to the eye doctor for this and he said that everything looks healthy and normal. Just thought that I would throw this in there with my previous post, in case it has something to do with my post-shower hazy vision.
