i was tested for herpes virus 1 and I have a horrible burning sensation in my left eye and I have blurred vision. I have a appointment with my eye doctor who is a opthomologist on April 15th. I will tell her that I believe the symptons I might be experiencing is from herpes virus 1. I am having burning pain in my eye my eye is slightly puffy and it is blurred and feels irritated. How does a Opthamoligust determine if this is Herpes simplex 1?
Yes, but its unusual. I'm assuming you are talking about Herpes simplex (fever blister virus) type I. It has a 50% chance of re-occuring. Be sure to tell anyone that looks at your eye about this problem. Do not use any steroid drops in your eye unless an Eye MD ophthalmologist prescribes them and knows that you have had herpes simplex.
The other "herpes" is Herpes zoster which is shingles and quite a different thing entirely.
Which do you have?
