How do I get rid of my eye bags?

I have been using Epiduo or TactuPump (Same thing, different names) since around December I think and it has helped a lot with my acne and I just have Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation left. Since around the middle of February I have had eye bags under my eyes, I think the cause of it was my sleeping late for a week or so, but after that I started sleeping 8-9 hours a night and the eye bags didn't budge. They're a little smaller now, but they are still here. I am worried because I never have had eye bags before, and never for this long before.

I was just wondering if the cause of this was the Epiduo because I do apply it by my nose and on my cheeks around the under eye area(under the eye bag area, around it), and if so what should I do, should I try to apply it farther away from the under eye area because it is migrating over to that area? I was also wondering if these under eye bags were permanent? I also don't moisturize my under eye area or my face would that get rid of the under eye bag? What is the cause of the eye bags (As I said, I've never had them before, so its not hereditary, and my parents don't have them)? Should I go to my family doctor to get it checked out?

I also had tried already sleeping with 2 pillows under my head, for about 2 weeks, and nothing changed. But thanks, I am going to the doctor tomorrow!

Well, you did an good trial by not using the product for week!

Allergies and sinus infections are very, very common causes of eye bags!  It could be well worth talking this over with your doctor, and maybe even asking for a referral to an allergist for testing.  During allergic spells, I regularly use prescription anti allergy drops called Pataday,   Without them, I do have some swelling.

BTW, sleeping with your head elevated will most likely reduce the amount of puffiness.  You could try that also.

Hi, sorry to bother you again, but I am going to the doctor on Wednesday, and I was wondering what kind of questions I should ask my doctor to help figure out what is the cause of my eye bags.

Thanks in advance!

Hey! It has been a week, and I have not applied the epiduo at all, so I think this must be allergies or something. Could someone have allergies that cause swelling for 1-2 constant months (In this situation, the eye bags)? What else could be causing the eye bags?

Alright, thank you very much for the help!

The thing is that I have a little bit of acne, and if I don't use it my acne will probably come back.

I think it would be best to stop using the product anywhere on your face or body for a while.  There are different kinds of reactions, and sometimes a reaction will turn up at some distance from where the substance is actually applied.

Thank you very much!
I have been trying to get an answer to this question for a few weeks now!

Just one more question, are you saying that I should just stop applying epiduo over all or just in the are close to the under eye area? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to be precise

The patient instructions say this:

"Exposure of adapalene cream to the eye may cause swelling, redness, and irritation."

If I were you, l would stop using the product anywhere on your face for a week and see if your swelling goes away. Use nothing at all on this region of your face during that time, since moisturizers have all kinds of potential irritants in them, even if they're "hypoallergenic."

If the swelling goes away, the chances are that the cream is the problem.  Given that you never had eye bags before this, the odds are that your bags are not permanent--but you do have to find out what is causing this.

It would be a good idea to see the doc who prescribed the med for you about this.  He/she might be able to tell if the bags are the result of allergy or some other kind of reaction.
