Increase in floaters

I posted a question back in May concerning exercise and Myopic degeneration.  The question was can exercises such as jump roping, jumping jacks and pushups increase the chances of further bleeding.  The answer I received was it is very unlikly.  Since May things have been well until yesterday when I notice a very large floater and a "screen" of tiny black specs in my field of vision. Since it was a Saturday I ended up a Wills eye in Philadelphia.  The doctor there said a large floater had broken off but it had not affected my retina in any way.  He said to follow up with my Retinologist in a week and to avoid "head jarring".  When I said I was involved in Taekwondo but never sparred or received a direct blow to the head the Dr. hesitated but said he would allow Taekwondo under those circumstances.
Well it brings up the question again.  What kind of head "jarring" will actually cause problems.  Do you think something like kicking a pad or punching targets along with jumping jacks, pushups and jogging around a gym will increase the chances of floaters within the eye or increase the chance of retinal detachment?  I hate to ask again but it is very frustrating.  One other note is that the floater formed after I had been experiencing some flashing when moving my eye from left to right which by the way is still occurring.
Again any advice you can provide will be appreciated.

I think you need an answer from a doctor. Post your question on the eye expert forum, if you want a doctor to respond.

This is a good question.  I recently have had retinal tears in both eyes.  One of my doctors said I should limited activity and the other doctor thinks this is not necessary.  Unfortunately several weeks ago a blood vessel under an older tear in my right eye bled.  This happened just after an 8 mile bike ride.  It was a hot day and I was riding up hill and probably exerting myself more than I normally do.  Are these two events related?  I don't know but I can not help to think that they are.  Bottom line for me is that I am still exercising but I am taking it much easier until I feel confident my eyes have healed well enough.  I have "left" over floaters in my left eye that is dissipating with time and I do notice they change. I suspect this is what you notice and I am sure activity with affect changes like this.  Like me, you will know what “old” floaters are and what would be "new" floaters.  BTW we are fortunate to live at time with the medical care we have.  These retinal issues are a trip!
Also about the flashes - I still have some flashing but noticed this also changes with time and my doctor says this too is normal.
