MRI scheduled for 3yo

My 3 yo daughter was recently scheduled an MRI after having a routine check-up for her exotropia.
Her Doctor said that her nerve looked "slightly pale". She said that it was this way in both eyes.  Is there any cause for concern here?  It did not look atrophied (sp) to her, just pale in color. Could there still be a problem if the nerve is not atrophied, but only pale. What are the chances that she was just born with this? She is otherwise perfectly healthy, besides the exotropia.

Yes the waiting is touch. Be glad you don't live in Canada and England where posters on this forum report average waits of 4-5 months for a MRI.

I'm not a betting person but the odds are good this will turn out fine.

So, they is a pretty good chance that she was just born with a pale optic nerve? Her Doc said that the nerve did not look atrophied, is this a better signs that it's nothing?
Just got the call that the MRI was approved by our insurance, now I have to call and make the appt. The waiting is killing us though.

1. pale can be normal but optic atrophy needs to be excluded. This is especially true with the exotrophia.
2. It is possible that she was born with this like a pale complexion.
3. In a three year old it is still possible to determine if she needs glasses, and to be sure the eye does not have disease.  Exotrophia (or wall eyes) usually has good vision and does not cause reduced vision (amblyopia) which is more common in crossed eyes.

Also, from what they could tell (with her only being 3) they said her vision appeared normal. Could the vision still be normal if there was an underlying issue?
