Myopic Degeneration

I have Myopic Degeneration and this last week had the 1st injection with Avastin in the eyeball. What is your exp erience with  Avastin?
I have double vision with the bad eye having lost the central vision.  Anyway to correct the double vision as that  influences the vision in the good eye.  Prisms?

I've now been to a Strabismus Specialist.  He gave me an RX for Frisnel Prism lens.  The RX reaad:  " Please place Fresniel Prism 2 PD Base Down over left eye".  My bad left eye sees image as belwo and to the left of the good right eye image(Although the good eye is now having problems). That prismlens did not help.
Does that RX seem right for the location of the image and the attempt to bring it up to the other image?
Thanks for your help

discuss with your surgeon and let him/her measure your eye muscles and see if you need to see a strabismus specialist

I'm sorry I mislead you on the double vision.  It is not double vision when I look just thru the bad eye.  When I look thru both eyes, my sight is not real clear.  I close my good eye and I see a street light which is reddish in color.  I then look thru the good eye only and see the street light clearly but the light is higher and to my right.  In otherwords, going back and forth between the two eyes, the images are not in the same spot. Thanks for your previous comments.  Wayne

If you see "double" through just your "bad" eye and not through your good eye then you most likely are aware of ghost images due to the macular disease in your bad eye. Prisms do not help "one eyed" double vision only true two eyed double vision where two entirely separate images are seen with both eyes open and one goes away when one eye is shut.

Thanks for your quick response to my posting on Myopic Degeneration.  My vision in the bad eye causes double vision with street lights at night being reddish in color with the bad eye..  Is that seeing thru the blood in the back of the eye?

Would I be ready to be fitted with prisms?  My Doctor has not said anything about that as yet.  I'll get another Avastin injection in 6 weeks.

Avastin and lucentis have revolutionize treatment of all diseases associated with choroidal or macular neovascularization. In 75% of the cases it can keep the vision from getting worse. In 25% the vision further deteriorates. Multiple treatments are the norm. Prisms are to help double vision and will have no bearing on how your macula heals
