Optic Nerve Drusen in one eye

I am a healthy 28 year old male with optic nerve drusen diagnosed a few years ago.  My opthomologist said that we will continue to monitor them every year or so and is not to concerned.  In any sort of light, sunlight or artificial, my right eye sees a red tint on dark colors while my left eye is perfectly normal.  If I cover over the top of my right eye near my eyebrow so no light gets in my vision is much better.  My right eye does not seem to be able to handle too much light or something.  The right eye also has many floaters, and cannot read with it up close.

1.)  Is this common with optic nerve drusen or could it be something else besides drusen?
2.)  Could this be the beginning of Macular Degeneration?
3.)  Is this something  I should worry about?  I don't know how long my eyes have seen through light differently.  I can trace it back at least 8 years.  There was an incident where one of my friends held a large commercial flasher for a large camera and flashed it about an inch away from my eyes.  There was a severe burning in the back of my eyes and they were soar for a week or two.  Could this be the cause or is it likely the drusen?

I would not worry about it.  Besides, there is nothing that can be done.
